This film is by Teenaa Kaur, a Breast Cancer Survivor, and an International Award-winning, Independent Filmmaker, and Screenwriter based in Mumbai.

The film has won numerous international awards including the National Film Award in the Best Investigative Film Category in 2018.

Movie : 1984, When the Sun Didn’t Rise
Movie Duration: 60 minutes

This documentary trails the lives of three women who survived the 1984 Sikh Massacre in Delhi. They are currently living in a Widow Colony with their children, negotiating their memories on a day to day basis while still earning their livelihood. The film stands for justice, truth, and women as heroes.

This film has been screened in 20 Universities in London, UK including Oxford Brookes University, London School of Economics, Westminister etc. along with 30 Public Forums including Godrej Cultural Lab.

Her films have broadcast on National Geographic, Fox History, Doordarshan, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and endorsed by Busan Intl. Film festival “AND FUND”, DOCWOK by DOC Leipzig Germany, PSBT India, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, India. She was awarded the screenwriting fellowship by Time Warner foundation-supported Asia Society, New York for her first feature film screenplay “The Red Autumn” in 2013-14.
