Westborough MA- On November 23, 2022, Nishkam TV students shared the start of the production of their next film project on the lives and ordeals of Afghan religious minorities. It will focus on their history as Afghani and how in the past few decades, they have endured hardships and religious persecution that have forced them to flee their home and country.  

The documentary is titled “Baywatana,” a Pashto word that translates to without a home or a country will be screened on August 14-18, 2023, at the Parliament of World’s Religions Conference in Chicago – the biggest interfaith conference that brings people of faith from around the world to celebrate the enduring spirit and work of religious and spiritual communities striving toward a more just, peaceful, and sustainable world.“Baywatana” hopes to provide an insight to the plight of religious minorities living in Afghanistan and the oppression they have suffered.  

The documentary will follow their journey, – uprooted away from the only home and life they have ever known, to a new country, a new home, and a new life they are trying to build. We wish to highlight religious freedom as an essential human right.
