Nanaki Preet Kaur is a second-year student at the University of Virginia, studying Neuroscience and Bioethics. She is passionate about journalism, graphic design, and strategic communication, using the power of the pen to raise awareness about underrepresented issues including public health and policy topics. She has won multiple international and national awards for her journalism and graphic design including a “Gold Circle Award” from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association, VHSL Virginia Journalist of the Year, and the National Council of Teachers of English REALM Award. She has served in leadership roles for various student magazines and publications, currently as print editor as the print editor of the Virginia Journal of Bioethics and the editing chair of the Health Righters Journal. Her passion for Sikhi started from a young age where she attended and later taught at Guru Angad Institute of Sikh Studies, guiding students to play traditional Sikh stringed instruments like the dilruba and sarangi. She looks forward to using this combined expertise and passion to head social media strategy at Vaad-Vivaad.
