Westborough MA – On August 21, 2023, we are thrilled to share the journey of our latest documentaries, “Baywatana” and “SEVA,” which were recently screened at the prestigious Parliament of World Religions (PoWR) Film Festivals on August 15th produced in collaboration with The Sikh Coalition and Sikh American Legal Defense and Education Fund (SALDEF) as our co-producers.

These remarkable films result from relentless dedication and hard work by our exceptional team of high school students (Aekem Singh, Jaskeerat Singh, Sahej Singh, Tanisha Kaur Kapoor, Jasratan Chopra, Suner Kaur Chopra, Kiran Kaur Bagga, Raunaq Singh Mokha), guided by the mentorship of the Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Harbaldeep Singh. “Baywatana” immerses itself in the poignant narratives of Afghan Sikhs and Hindus, unveiling their struggles, resilience, and pursuit of a new beginning. On the other hand, “SEVA” beautifully captures the selfless acts of service performed by the Sikh community across the globe during the pandemic. (PBS will screen the SEVA documentary on their WORLD ONE Channel).

The response to Baywatana (www.baywatana.org) at the film festival was genuinely humbling, as it shed light on the challenges faced by Afghan Sikhs and Hindus, who were compelled to leave their homeland and start anew in India, the UK, the USA, and Canada. After watching Baywatana, there wasn’t a single eye in the theater that remained untouched, as the plight of the Afghan Sikhs and Hindus community, once significant contributors to their countries’ economies, moved every heart to tears.

Our team was interviewed by several media companies and invited to screen the documentaries at prestigious colleges and universities. Here is the press release:

The journey continues. We invite all media companies and streaming platforms to join us in bringing these powerful stories to a global audience. As we present our high-school student filmmakers’ exceptional quality and storytelling prowess, let’s work together to spread awareness, inspire change, and elevate the voices of the youth who are shaping narratives that matter.
